Coming this weekend...

Here's a little tidbit most of you don't know. Since this time last year, I've lost 35 pounds. It's been a "slow and steady wins the race" process. Somehow, between stressful jobs and 2 kids, I figured out how to put on a LOT of weight. In fact, 60lbs from my slimmest 12 years ago (At 5'10, I somehow got to a size 4). I don't know if I'll get back to that, but I'm 10lbs away from my 1st goal weight, where I'll evaluate the situation and decide where I want to be. I now weigh 8lbs less than I did when I got preggo w/ my 6yo, so at least I've taken care of the pregnancy damage. The rest will be easy from here.

The struggle at this point, is what shall I wear? I currently have 4 different sizes in my closet, and all of them are too big. I've even bought a few pieces for the downsize, and I've grown out of them.

So my big project this weekend is to dig into all of my tubs in the basement and find my smaller sizes. I will be 1) putting those in the closet while I 2) remove the large sizes, and 3) find a frugal way to update these outfits that are quite old, without breaking the budget. I will share my journey with you this weekend! If you're like me, and trying to lose some weight, hopefully I'll be able to give you some tips on how to look current without spending a ton. And if you've done this yourself, I'd sure LOVE to hear from you! Please leave your tips and advice for all us of in the comments below!

Awesome! I'm impressed!! I'm hoping to get on the right track after I recover from my surgery. It will be awhile, though, as I'm severely anemic (narrowly avoided a blood transfusion in surgery), so exercise isn't possible for awhile. But someday.... :) Congrats to you!!!

Yep, I'm home. Thanks for checking!!! :-) I posted on my other blog about it earlier when I was feeling pretty good. Now I'm feverish again, but I'm still getting better. The blog is at http://themonkeyroom.blogspot.com .

Congrats! I lost 32 pounds and have kept it off for a year. I went from a size 12/14 to a 4.

Since I have never worn a size 4, I had to buy new pants. The most frugal way I found, was to buy pants at Kohls. I have a Kohls card and wait for the 30% off coupon. You can also get a $5 coupon if you give them your email address.

I still don't like buying clothes, so I just rotate 3 pairs of pants and about 4 shirts.

Good luck!
